Hot water from the end cap weep hole (direct-drive and hard-seal end caps)

Hot water at the end cap weep hole means high-pressure leakage has passed the end cap or check valve seal.

Safety first: Switch off the pump, release all pressure (open the on/off valve or bleed-down valve) and lock out before you open any high-pressure part. Never put a hand or tool near a running jet.

01End cap seal failed Most likely

Leakage past the end cap seal heats the water.

How to check: Replace the end cap seal; check tie rods.

02Cracked check valve body Possible

A cracked body leaks hot water from the bottom or side weep hole.

How to check: Inspect the check valve body for cracks when the end cap is off.

03Pressure set too high Less likely

Running above rated pressure overloads the end cap seal.

How to check: Check the pressure setting against the pump rating.
